Save our Firefighters

Hundreds of Firefighters in King County that have medical or religious exemptions are facing termination on April 17th.  Most counties around the state allowed exemptions for Firefighters.  Marysville has brought their unvaccinated firefighters back and Snohomish Regional is working towards that goal, yet King County and Eastside Fire and Rescue have not relented and Firefighters are still facing capricious and unnecessary termination.

Washington Civil Rights Council has written a powerful letter to the Fire Chief that you will want to read for sure. Read the letter to the Fire Chief here.

The Firefighters are asking for support from the public to help keep their jobs.  Read the letter called “Save Our Firefighters” for details and contact information of who you can contact to make your voice heard.

The firefighters are asking for help in two ways:

  1. Contact officials listed in the document so that they know the public cares and is paying attention
  2. Join affected Firefighters at the next Eastside Fire and Rescue Board of Directors meeting in Issaquah on April 14th.
